Cognitive communication disorder (CCD) can be a hidden disability, especially when people do not have reliable information to explain what it is.  Headway provides helpful and accessible information about CCD.

It is consistently reported that up to 75% of people living with an acquired brain injury experience CCD and that approximately 1 in every 300 UK families will be living with someone who has CCD.  If you, or someone you know has had an acquired brain injury, accessing speech and language therapy is likely to be an important part of your rehabilitation.

Please use the resources and information on this website to consider whether speech and language therapy might be important for you.
