Mary works with people who have experienced other acquired neurological conditions, such as stroke and encephalitis. Mary spends time getting to know each individual and their context, alongside formal assessment. Mary is happy any questions about they way in which your brain injury has affected your speech, language, voice and communication. Together, you will plan which areas to work on.

Mary’s initial assessment was thorough and comprehensive whilst also being very personal, understanding and compassionate in a time that was very challenging for our whole family …… Mary’s friendly and caring approach throughout the therapy programme enabled the therapy to proceed smoothly whilst also being enjoyable and productive … Mary has been a great source of strength for our family in very challenging circumstances and we would thoroughly recommend Mary to anyone in need of professional therapy.
Victoria and Declan – Client and Husband, February 2017
One of Mary’s core practice values is to tailor all therapy to real life. She has lots of creative therapy ideas and links with other organisations who provide different types of therapy that can be beneficial. This might include attending groups.
Mary will also work with any important conversation partners, that is people who regularly communicate with the person who has an acquired brain injury, such as a stroke.
Mary’s work as a speech therapist was excellent. She not only gave exceptional therapy classes but most of all gave V the chance to communicate with people and to get his confidence back, which he had lost after his stroke. So, I cannot thank her enough for bringing V back to us with confidence in being with people.
